What technology makes a media server like YouTube?

Hello. What is the media streaming server made of? I think it's going to be very choppy with just a Tomket web server. I'm curious. Thank you.

I think I'll make it with a C++ or something.

According to Wikipedia, Google's most commonly used languages are Java, Python, and C++, and YouTube uses C++ for searches with similar traffic, so I think YouTube uses that technology.
