Understanding the nodetool cfhistograms Command

For information on how to display nodetool cfhistograms, see
I understand that statistics for the past 15 minutes will be displayed.
Which of the following is this "last 15 minutes"?

·Statistics 15 minutes before executing the command
·Statistics every last 15 minutes (0:00, 0:15, 0:30...)

It depends on the version of Cassandra.
(Read/Write latency and SSTable per read.)

Cassandra v2.1 and earlier: Statistics from Cassandra startup or from the last cfhistograms run (reset after cfhistograms run)
(Cassandra v2.2: Roughly last 5 minutes Exponential delay)
Cassandra v3.0 or later: Last 5 minutes but more recent CASSANDRA-11752
