The procedure seems to have been incorrect.
It seems that the Enter key should not be used to confirm.
Also, it seems that the esc key should not be pressed (i.e., until the replacement is successful) until the replaced character is entered and printed on the screen.
Successful Steps:
First, move the cursor to the single character you want to replace and press the r key at the alphabetic input.
After switching to Japanese input, enter the (I am romaji) reading of the replaced kanji, select the kanji you plan to convert with the space key, switch to English input, and move the cursor.
Then, one of the characters to be replaced has been replaced with the one you want, and it was successful.
However, with the tab key, I still couldn't select the (prediction) conversion candidate, and the tab character was printed. Unfortunately, I don't know why.
Again, it's a mistake to use the Enter key to confirm the conversion..
I don't know why, but pressing the Enter key does not determine the converted characters as desired, but rather prints newline characters in Vim..
In addition, without pressing the Enter key, the conversion of the previous character (or sentence) is still possible even if you select the character (or sentence) with the Space key.
