I'm trying to find out what the local intranet configuration of Windows Server 2008 R2 currently running as a domain controller is.
The goal is to learn how to get to the "Automatically Detect Intranet Networks" screen (dialog?).
This is because when I exported the relatively recent GPO information from that server, I found that the "site" item on the local intranet is
Include all local (intranet) sites not specified in other zones
Include all sites that do not use proxy servers
Include all network paths (UNCs)
Items such as "valid" are listed, but where and how can I check them?
When I tried setting up Windows Server 2008 R2 for validation in my virtual environment, I tried the following:
Open Manage Group Policies
Create policies appropriately for group policy objects and right-click → Edit
The Group Policy Management Editor opens, click User Configuration → Windows Settings → Internet Explorer Maintenance → Security
Double-click Security Zone and Content Regulations
US>Select "Continue" as the Internet Explorer Security Enhancement Configuration dialog appears
With the radio button to import the current security zone and privacy settings checked, click Change Settings
Security Tab → Select Local Intranet → Press Site
Enter the URL of the website and click Add…
"What I expected when I tried to google various things was that the dialog appeared when I clicked ""Add"" on 8…" but it ended up being added normally."I don't know if it's supposed to be set up somewhere because it's just an instant environment, but if it's a proper environment (the GPO exported production environment mentioned above), where can I check it?
By the way, the IE version is 8 for both production and home verification environments (IE10 and later do not seem to have Internet Explorer maintenance...).
