How do I know the current input source when I have a full screen of the macOS app?

When I use a full-screen browser or VSCode on my MacOS, the menu bar is hidden, so I don't know the input source (language or input mode).

menu bar input source

Is there any way to display the input source in the corner of the screen, display only the timing of the switch (like Windows), or make the input source known?

Environment

  • macOS Big Sur
  • MacBook Pro, US keyboard, no touch bar
  • Mainly switching between Japanese (Roman alphabet) and English (Dvorak)

If you press the input source switch shortcut key and press the modifier key for a long time, the next selected input source will appear almost in the center of the screen. Is this not enough?

By the way, Monterey can also display the menu bar on a full screen.
